Somaliland Society in New Zealand Incorporated, is a Wellington based organisation that supports the resettlement of Soamlilanders in Wellington region. Our community mainlyu00a0came from Refugee background communityu00a0 and needs a lot of support for social services and advocacy, communityu00a0development, education & learningu00a0support, information & navigation support and other services availableu00a0in the Wellington region.
How we help
We listen to the needs of our community and provide culturally safe support, information, advocacy and programmes that help individuals and families connect, participate and thrive.
Advocacy Services
One-to-one advocacy, information, navigation and assistance with government services for individuals and families.
Community Development
Community led programmes, guidance and support that strengthen wellbeing, confidence and connection.
Education & Learning Support
Supporting parents and young people to better understand and navigate the New Zealand education system through community learning programmes and guidance.
Information & Navigation Support
Providing culturally safe information, guidance and practical assistance to help community members understand and access government and community services.
Celebrating Our Community & Culture
We bring people together through cultural celebrations, community events and programmes that strengthen connection, preserve heritage and create a sense of belonging.
